Home - Journeys - Thailand 2023 - Friday, October 13, 2022 until Sunday, October 15, 2022
We haven't thought much about our upcoming trip yet, but we have been thinking about it for
the past two days.
Because we will be in Thailand for longer than 45 days, Tom needs a visa, or has to leave
the country for a while or has to extend the Visa Extemption of 45 days.
We decide that Tom will apply for an e-visa, even
though we have the idea to go to Loas, Vietnam or Cambodia for a few days.
The reason for applying for an e-visa is that we do have plans, but we are not yet sure
whether those plans can also be realized.
The plans of the past two trips have been thoroughly messed up by all kinds of
circumstances.
And we don't feel like having to extend a Visa Extemption in Bangkok, that costs time and
money, more than applying for an e-visa in advance.
Tom checks the website of the Thai embassy in The Hague to see which documents are required to apply for an e-visa. We get the impression that it has not changed compared to our previous visit in early 2022. Tom collects the necessary documents, including an invitation that Moue must complete, sign and send back to us. On Saturday, the invitation arrives by e-mail.
On Sunday, Tom will complete the application for the e-visa.
Then it turns out that additional documents are still needed, but fortunately we can produce
them quickly.
The application is submitted on Sunday.
The e-visa will be sent by e-mail.

We tell what we have done and experienced during a trip and we also tell what we think about it; no more and no less.
This is not a travel guide, nor is it advice to visit a place or not.
There are other sites for that.
Our opinion about places where we have eaten, drunk or slept is not intended as a (positive or negative) assessment,
there are other sites for that.
It is our view of the situation at a certain moment and that view is influenced by our mood,
the weather and many other factors.
